Brian Warren was just having a meal at Canterbury when he decided to enter the club’s Father’s Day competition.

Little did he realise he would eventually receive a phone call letting him know he was the prize winner of a signed 2013 Bulldogs jersey and a Bulldogs fridge full of James Squire beer.

“My son was flying overseas so we had coffee with him before taking him to the airport. While at lunch [at Canterbury] I decided to enter without any real expectation of winning,” said Mr Warren, a long-time member of Canterbury League Club.

“When the Club called with the good news I expressed almost disbelief – then enormous appreciation as I rarely win anything.”

Brian has installed the fridge in his “man space” in his shed and it will get much use over the coming summer months.

He has also generously donated his signed jersey to fundraise in support of a missionary group called Women of Worth (WOW). The group supports rural Cambodian women and teaches them to produce touristic goods for sale to finance essential items for their villages.
