2014 NRL Grand Final Arrangements at Canterbury

Posted on Tuesday, 30 September 2014

If you can’t be at the game on Sunday 5 October to watch the NRL Grand Final as the mighty Bulldogs take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs, then Canterbury League Club is the best place to be to enjoy the atmosphere of Grand Final Day.

“It is going to be an amazing day for Canterbury Leagues Club and Bulldogs supporters alike – the Club will be at full capacity and will operate differently on the day to ensure Members and Guests have the best experience in a safe environment,” said Dave Brace, CEO of Canterbury League Club.

Members can choose from one of the four available pre-booked Grand Final Day Event Packages to reserve their place at Canterbury. The alternative is to select from one of the casual viewing options for those wishing to view the game only.

The four Grand Final Day Event Packages include:

The Platinum Legends Package in the Terrace Bar – $220 per head

Enjoy a sumptuous four course meal with three premium beverages and watch the game on two big screens in the luxurious Terrace Bar. This package also includes a visit from Bulldogs Legends. Over 18 only.

The Gold Canterbury Package in Flame Pizza + Grill – $110 per head

Enjoy a premium three course meal with two premium beverages before watching the game on one of three big screens. Watch the Bulldogs players from the Outdoor Terrace when they return to Canterbury after the NRL Grand Final. Children over 12 permitted with a ticket.

The Silver Modern Game Package in Blueberry Hill – $80 per head

Enjoy a delicious three course meal with two beverages before watching the game on the built-in projector and big screen. Children over 12 permitted with a ticket.

The Big Game Package in the Paragon Room – $55 per head

Enjoy the atmosphere of the Paragon Room. Your big game ticket includes access to the Paragon Room, one meal ticket, two drinks tickets and dessert. Over 18 only.

Tickets can be purchased here or by phoning Reception on 9704 7777.

Canterbury also has some non-ticketed options to view the game and purchase food and beverage that are available on a first come first served basis. For safety reasons, once capacity has been reached, there will be no further admittance:

The Bulldogs Sports Bar & Indoor Sports Bar

Watch all the action from the Bulldogs Sports Bar or Indoor Sports Bar. Entry is free on a first come first served basis. Over 18 only.

Family Viewing in the Banyan Brasserie

For the enjoyment of members with children, a number of big screens will be installed in the Banyan Brasserie. Entry to this area is free on a first come first served basis after the completion of the regular lunch trade.

Important Information

With the Club expected to be at full capacity it is unlikely that anyone returning from the game will be able to get in should the Bulldogs be successful on Sunday Night. “Once we reach capacity no one will be admitted to the Club unless someone leaves. And you can imagine that if the Bulldogs win no one is going home early,” said Dave Brace.

“We understand that those people at the game may be disappointed that they can’t come back to the Leagues Club to celebrate, but our priority is to ensure a safe environment for those Members that are already in the Club.”

Parking will be available on a first come first served basis to Members who are attending the Club to watch the game. Canterbury anticipates that it may be difficult exiting the Club after the game and we recommend using public transportation or making alternate arrangements to get to the Club.

C-Life Health Club will be closed from 12 noon on Grand Final Day and there will be no access after that time. Regular trading will resume on Monday 6 October.
