AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST MORNING TEA

Posted on Wednesday, 30 May 2018

On Wednesday 30 May, C-Life Health Club participated in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and helped raise $676.10.

In 2018, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is celebrating 25 years and C-Life Health Club has been a proud supporter for 11 years.

The money raised over the years, has supported the Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services.

This year’s morning tea was a foodies’ paradise with a spread filled with healthy breakfast options that included Bircher Muesli, egg frittatas, muffins, fruit platters and wraps. But no morning tea would be complete without a little indulgence of cakes and sweets that were enjoyed with tea and coffee. The food was made and organised by C-Life’s Mariana Tolj and Leedia Gordon.

“We initially started the event as something small that offered tea and cakes during the mid-morning. But 7 years ago we upped the scale to offer a breakfast for our early morning members,” Mariana Tolj  C-Life’s Exercise Physiologist.

“1 in 2 Individuals are at risk of being diagnosed with cancer by their 85th birthday. This is an alarming rate and it is sad how common it is to be affected by cancer directly or indirectly in some way. This is why events like the Biggest Morning Tea not only raises awareness but provides the vital funding needed to make a difference in our communities.”

“We can significantly reduce our risk of many cancers by leading a healthy lifestyle and most importantly through exercise. Exercise is now not only a preventive tool, but is also being used during and after cancer for treatment purposes.”

Thank you to the members and supporters of the event that came along and donated.
