Sixty years ago, on 6 June 1957, a small little club operating out of a repurposed wooden naval hut officially opened to a membership base of 292 members.

Fast forward 60 years, Canterbury recently celebrated with a cake cutting ceremony with the Board of Directors and some special guests including Canterbury Life Members Harry Murray, Keith Lotty and Gary McIntyre, Tony Burke Federal Member for Watson, Linda Burney Federal Member for Barton and Sophie Cotsis State Member for Canterbury.

“Thank you to everyone who celebrated our 60th anniversary with us. It is an exciting time to be with Canterbury and I look forward to seeing this Club continue to grow into the future,” said Dr George Peponis OAM, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
