Canterbury League Club has donated over $1.2 million to more than 120 different organisations, schools and sporting groups in the period from September 2013 till August 2014.

Some of the charities and local organisations that Canterbury has assisted in the past year include the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Variety – The Children’s Charity, St Basil’s Nursing Home, Canterbury Hospital, Youth Off The Streets, Special Olympics Australia, Horizon Theatre Company and Koorana Child & Family Services.

Local sporting groups are also big winners; among some of the recipients include the Canterbury Bankstown Junior Rugby League Football Club for the development of junior players, Kingsgrove Cricket Club for their In2Cricket program and Sydney Cedars Sports Club.

Asides from financial donations, Canterbury also supports with in-kind donations such as Bulldogs merchandise, events held at the Club, and gift vouchers to the Club’s restaurants.

Canterbury’s ClubGRANTS program particularly supports organisations that provide assistance to poor, disadvantaged and sick children; assistance for the elderly in our local community; and groups that promote a healthy wellbeing through an active lifestyle.

“Canterbury has always been passionate supporters of worthwhile projects and we strongly advocate giving back to the community. The Club has a social consciousness and responsibility to help improve the lives of those who may be doing it tough and extend the opportunity to help change someone’s future,” said Dr. George Peponis OAM, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
