From 1 July 2021, the way that your Status Points are calculated and displayed was changing.

Previously your current Status Points total was the number of Status Points that you earned in the previous 6 months from that point in time. Your total changed daily as the calculation period rolled forward by one day.

Under this system your Status Points fluctuated up and down and Members shared with us that they found it difficult to determine how many points they required to remain in their existing tier or progress to a higher tier.

Following your feedback, from 1 July the Engage Rewards program changed to a fixed Tier Review Period system. This is the system widely adopted by most loyalty programs including major casino groups and airline frequent flyer programs.

Under the new system your Status Points will be displayed as the total number of points that you have earned in a fixed six-month Tier Review Period. At the end of the six-month Tier Review Period, the amount of Status Points you have earned will determine the tier that you will be placed in for the next six-month Tier Review Period.

There will be two Tier Review Periods each year and your Status Points will reset to zero at the commencement of each Tier Review Period:

  • 1 January to 30 June
  • 1 July to 31 December

Please note that the tier that you qualified for under the previous system is the tier that you commence in under the new system. For example, if you were a Gold Tier Member when we closed for lockdown, then you will still be a Gold Tier Member under the new system.

If, at any time during a Tier Review Period, you earn the required number of points to move to a higher tier then you will automatically be moved to the higher tier without needing to wait for the first business day of the next month.

Importantly there are NO changes being made to any existing benefits of the program including:

  • There is NO change to the way that Engage Points or Status Points are earned
  • There is NO change to the existing range of benefits
  • The amount of Status Points required to qualify for each Tier remains unchanged

From 1 January 2022, the required number of points will revert back to normal.

In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the new system, please speak with a member of the Engage Rewards team at Canterbury or one of the Duty Managers at The Lakemba Club.

1. What happens to the Status Points that I have already earned?

Your current balance of Status Points at the end of 30 June 2021 was used to determine the tier that you have been placed into from 1 July 2021. After 1 July 2021 your Status Points balance has been reset to zero and any points you earn from Monday 11 October 2021 will be used to determine the tier that you will be placed in from 1 January 2022.

2. What happens to my Engage Points balance on 1 July 2021?

Your Engage Points balance will be unaffected.

3. Will my tier change?

Your tier has not changed from when the Club was closed for lockdown except for a small number of people whose tier increased as part of the regular monthly review on 30 June 2021. The regular full tier review that was due to be held on 1 July 2021 was cancelled.

If you have any questions about the new changes, please see an Engage Host at Level 1 or one of our Duty Managers.
