$1206.80 raised for National Breast Cancer Foundation

For a week in October, Canterbury and its staff were awash in all things pink to fundraise funds for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and their fight against breast cancer.

During the Club’s October Breast Cancer Awareness Week, Bakehouse Café’s front dessert display cabinet was jam-packed with delicious pink sweets and treats such as pink cupcakes, pink mousses and pink cakes. For every purchase of a pink dessert during the week, Canterbury donated $1 to NBCF.

The pink desserts were a big hit – between hungry diners and hungrier staff, $645 was raised just from their sales in a week!

Staff also got behind the week by wearing a touch of pink in their uniform on Friday as well as supporting a staff PINK raffle and PINK lolly jar guessing competition where they were encouraged to donate to participate. Combined with donation boxes, staff raised another $561.80 bringing the final fundraiser tally to $1206.80.

“This is our second year hosting this event and it was fantastic to see staff get into the spirit of it and raise more money than last year. Thank you to everyone who bought a pink dessert, donated money and participated in our pink activities. All monies have been donated to NBCF to help further the important cancer research they do,” said Dave Brace, CEO of Canterbury.
