Staff shine at 2019 Staff Awards Night
Once a year Canterbury League Club takes the opportunity to recognise the achievements and dedication of service of their staff members at their annual Staff Awards Night.
This year 45 staff from various departments including Food & Beverage, Gaming, Security and Surveillance, C-Life Health Club, and Marketing celebrated their 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year milestones. Collectively, the award recipients have worked an amazing total of 620 years which can further be broken down into 32,240 weeks, 225,680 days or 5,416,320 hours!
Aside from honouring service milestones, Canterbury also recognised an employee who tirelessly volunteered their time in the club’s Staff Community Program in the past 12 months. This year’s Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Alison Daniell from Human Resources for the numerous hours she has donated to help feed the homeless, baking for charity, and supporting the club’s fundraising events.
In addition to receiving the award, Alison also got to nominate a charity of her choice to donate $500 to and this year she chose Camp Magic – a grief education and support program for bereaved children and teenagers. She has had several of her nieces and nephews attend the camp after the loss of their parent and feels strongly about the amazing work that they do.
The last award of the night was presented to four winners who exhibit Canterbury’s CARE values daily and go that extra mile to provide a memorable experience whilst they are at work. This year’s RAVE Champion winners are Noor Uddin, Marcel Eid, Sofoklis Zagas and Parthena Aslanidis.
“Tonight we have a significant representation of long-serving employees who bring with them a wealth of knowledge about the Club, but more than that, about the people who make Canterbury what it is today. Congratulations to you all!” said Greg Pickering, CEO of Canterbury League Club.
