Covid-19 no barrier to bringing Christmas cheer to families in need

Santa and his helpers from Campsie’s Salvation Army will be delivering $5,000 worth of toys and food hampers to families in the local area thanks to a donation from Canterbury League Club.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, the Club purchased trolleys-full of toys, school supplies Woolworths WISH gift cards and pantry items such as pasta, cereal, rice, biscuits, toothpaste and hand wash.

“With your help, we are able to help more than 80 families in our local community. We couldn’t do it without your support,” said Lt. Rong Fu, Campsie branch Salvos Corps Officer.

The toys and hampers will be distributed just in time for Christmas by Salvos volunteers.

“We have partnered with our local Salvos for several years and we are happy to work with this wonderful organisation again this year. We knew there would be many families facing hardship as they recover from the effects of Covid-19 and we are proud to help the community and bring some Christmas cheer,” said Paul Dunn, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
