Moxon Sports Club opening later this month
In just a few short weeks, Canterbury’s new club, Moxon Sports Club, will open after a five month $3 million renovation.
The complete overhaul will introduce a brand new restaurant called Bistro on Moxon, a new kitchen and bathrooms, an outdoor extension to the front of the clubhouse, a rich timber-clad front entrance, new carpets and furniture and a new Club name amongst some of the other aesthetic changes.
Externally, the front carpark will be resurfaced and new signage will be installed to welcome patrons to the new-look club. The outside façade has also gotten a brand new on-trend grey-colour paint job to tie together the new colour palette with the warm wooden cladding.
All of these works will complement the effort that has already been put in to upgrade the tennis courts and the bowling greens during these past few months – two of the six tennis courts have been resurfaced with artificial turf to provide a new level of play and the bowling greens have been rejuvenated to bring them up to perfect playing conditions.
Members can enjoy Moxon’s brand new website launching soon and everyone is encouraged to join the club’s Facebook page to stay informed of the latest menu dishes from Bistro on Moxon, What’s On and sub-club sport news, specials and promotions.
“We are excited to welcome Moxon Sports Club to the Canterbury Group – it is the ideal family-friendly location in a small-club relaxed social setting, servicing our Members and guests living in and around the Punchbowl area. We have engaged an amazing caterer to run Bistro on Moxon, Gary Di Paola, who has a wealth of experience from his time managing La Piazza at Bankstown, Primaluna at Randwick and Bistro on the Greens at South Coogee Bowling Club. The team at Moxon Sports Club look forward to welcoming you at the Club!” said Dave Brace, CEO of Canterbury League Club.
