Canterbury now an ‘Escabags’ Stockist

Canterbury League Club is showing its commitment to assisting those experiencing domestic violence and abuse through a $10,000 donation to Escabags to help stock escape bags with essential items like toiletries.

The brainchild of Stacy Jane, Founder and CEO and a domestic violence survivor, Escabags is an Australian charity assisting people facing domestic violence by providing free tote bags full of practical daily life items including shower gel and shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, women’s sanitary items and toys to comfort children.

The ‘escape bags’ are designed in two different variations: ‘Single Adult”, and ‘Parent and Child’. Both variations are also gender neutral with the aim of making them suitable and accessible to all and are packed in discrete, unlabelled bags.

In addition to the donation, Canterbury League Club, The Lakemba Club and Moxon Sports Club, are now ‘Escabag’ stockists and distribution outlets.

“Anyone who is experiencing domestic abuse or violence can come to any of our three clubs and find escape bags at reception. Clubs are suited to be stockists due to our extended trading hours, for example, Canterbury is always open 24/7 for our community. We are here to help in any way that we can,” said Canterbury League Club CEO Greg Pickering.

Escabags can be collected at Reception by asking one of our supportive reception staff.
