Breast cancer fundraiser a sweet success!

Thank you for the fantastic response from our Members and staff during Canterbury’s Pink Week (14-20 Oct) – we collectively raised $1984.75 for research into early detection and preventative treatment of breast cancer for National Breast Cancer Foundation!

The Club pledged a $1 for every pink dessert or pink cake sold at Bakehouse Café or The Bistro Café and hungry patrons rose to the challenge – all for a fantastic cause – with 1,340 cakes over the course of the week.

Further donations were collected from donation boxes from Canterbury venues, including The Lakemba Club and Moxon Sports Club, as well as staff fundraising activities.

“We would like to thank our members and staff that got involved in this special cause by purchasing a tasty pink dessert, wearing a touch of pink during the week, or donating a gold coin – every little bit counts!” said Greg Pickering, Canterbury League Club CEO.
