Lucky Member Scores Brand-New Geely EX5 Electric Car!

Congratulations to long-time Canterbury Member Marrielle, who recently drove away as the lucky winner of the Win a Geely EX5 Electric Car Giveaway, valued at over $50,000!

Excitement filled the Showroom as Members gathered for the highly anticipated Major Draw on Wednesday night, with the giveaway also livestreamed across to The Lakemba Club and Moxon Sports Club. After weeks of anticipation and thousands of entries, one lucky Member’s name was finally drawn by Canterbury League Club Chairman Peter Winchester.

“When I found out I’d won, I was in complete disbelief. It definitely took a moment for it to sink in,” said Marrielle. “I feel extremely grateful — it honestly felt like it was meant to be.”

Marrielle was upstairs in the club enjoying the atmosphere when her name was suddenly announced as the winner of the Geely EX5.

“As soon as I heard my name called out, I came rushing down to the Showroom. When I entered, it felt surreal seeing the whole room look towards my direction and applaud.”

Still overwhelmed by the experience, Marrielle said the first person she contacted was her sister.

“The first person I told was my sister who lives in New Zealand. She couldn’t believe it either!”

Marrielle, who regularly enters the promotions run by the Club, said she never expected to take home a prize of this scale.

“I thought I’d try my luck again, but I’ve never won anything like this before.”

The brand-new Geely EX5 marks an exciting new experience for the lucky winner, who will soon be stepping into the world of electric vehicles for the very first time.

“I’m really excited because I’ve never driven an electric car before. It’s a mix of nerves and excitement.”
