Canterbury CEO fundraising for homelessness
This 28 August, Canterbury League Club CEO Greg Pickering is doing something a little different.
Instead of heading home at the end of the day, he’ll be taking part in Canterbury-Bankstown Council’s Mayor’s Light Out Sleepout – spending the night outdoors at Belmore Sports Ground to raise funds and awareness for people in the community doing it tough.

“Homelessness is right here, in our streets, in our community, every single day and night that thousands of Australians live without any choice – it’s something I just can’t ignore,” said Mr Pickering.
“I’ve set a fundraising goal of $20,000 and every single dollar raised goes straight towards real support for people doing it tough. If you can give even a little, it matters more than you know.”
How you can help
Canterbury is calling upon our Members to get behind this in whatever way you can.

A little extra motivation
To make things even more interesting and help the CEO reach his $20,000 fundraising goal, we’ve added a couple of stretch rewards:
- Donate $1,000 or more and you’ll be invited to an all-expenses Yum Cha lunch at Dynasty, hosted by our CEO – a chance to sit down, connect, and share a great meal together.
- Top donor prize: The highest donor at the end of the campaign will receive corporate hospitality to a 2027 game at Accor Stadium.
