Want to turn your passion for sport into a career? Meet C-Life Personal Trainer, Chase.
Chase has always had a passion for sport and fitness. Now in his second year at Canterbury, he’s turned that passion into a career as a Personal Trainer at C-Life Health Club. From playing rugby league since he was six to helping members reach their own fitness goals, Chase loves being part of a community where everyone is working to become their best.
From rugby league to personal training
Chase’s interest in health and fitness began through his own experience playing rugby league and being surrounded by athletes and coaches from a young age. With more than five years of experience across sport, education and fitness, becoming a Personal Trainer was a natural progression.
He first heard about C-Life through people who already trained and worked at the club, and was immediately drawn to the strong sense of community and opportunity to grow.
“I really liked the community here and the opportunities that C-Life offered. It felt like a place where I could build my career while doing something I’m passionate about.”
Building connections and seeing results
As a Personal Trainer, one of Chase’s favourite parts of the job is getting to know members and building genuine connections with them.
“Every client is different, so you have to learn how to communicate and coach people in different ways depending on their needs. Seeing their progression and helping them reach their goals is definitely one of the best parts of my job.”
Working at C-Life has also helped Chase develop his communication and coaching skills, while giving him the opportunity to work with a diverse range of members who are all striving to better themselves.
“The members are always motivating each other, which creates such a positive environment. Everyone is here for their own reasons, but we’re all working towards becoming better.”
A lifelong love of sport
Outside of C-Life, Chase continues to pursue his passion for rugby league, playing for the Bulldogs. He’s been playing since he was six years old, making sport a constant throughout his life alongside studying his health and fitness certifications.
For Chase, it’s this combination of sport, people and personal growth that makes C-Life such a rewarding place to work.
“I’d definitely recommend a career here. The staff and community are really supportive and welcoming, and everyone is given the opportunity to make the most of their career.”
