Canterbury Christmas toy drive a big hit with kids and teens

For the past two years, Canterbury has partnered with All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Belmore to bring more festive cheer to approximately 200 kids and teenagers in our local community through a $7,500 donation worth of toys, sports equipment, books and gifts cards.

Throughout the month of December Canterbury staff, acting as Santa’s helpers behind the scenes, were busy gathering presents in preparation.

Presents were then delivered to All Saints who helped distribute them to Riverwood Community Centre (RCC), Canterbury Hospital, Marrickville Youth Resource Centre and Belmore Youth Resource Centre.

“Thank you to Canterbury League Club for their amazing donation. The kids and teenagers were so excited to receive their presents,” said Jenny Hantzopoulos, coordinator for All Saints Church’s Christmas toy drive.

“With the rise of inflation and cost of food going up the past 12 months, we understand how families might be doing it tough, on top of worrying about Christmas presents for their kids. We are proud of our partnership with All Saints to help bring some festive cheer during the holiday season,” said Peter Winchester, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
