Canterbury Director recognised with award
Congratulations to Canterbury League Club Director John Khoury who was recently awarded Canterbury-Bankstown Chamber of Commerce’s (CBCC) 2025 Social Impactor of the Year award.
The recipient of the CBCC Social Impact Award is determined through a board-led process that recognises an individual who consistently contributes to the community, demonstrates community impact, shows leadership by example, and is in alignment with CBCC values.
“Throughout 2025, John’s activities and personal conduct consistently reflected a genuine care for community wellbeing,” said Wally Mehanna, CEO of Canterbury-Bankstown Chamber of Commerce.
“His support extended beyond formal responsibilities, with an unwavering willingness to give time, leadership, and advocacy to initiatives that strengthened social cohesion and delivered meaningful outcomes.”
John was presented the award by NSW Premier The Hon. Chris Minns MP at the 2025 CBCC Gala Dinner.
“It was an unexpected honour to be recognised among so many esteemed political, business and community leaders, and I was truly humbled,” said John Khoury, Canterbury League Club Director.
“A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Wally Mehanna and his CBCC board for their support. I look forward to continuing our collaboration.”
