Canterbury donates over $600,000 in Community Support
Canterbury League Club has once again made a strong commitment to the local community, contributing over $604,997 through the 2025 Canterbury-Bankstown Local Grant Round to support 31 local organisations.
These contributions will make a real difference in the lives of people across the local area, supporting projects dedicated to welfare, education, physical and mental health, safety, and student welfare. A few highlights include:
- A combined $50,000 to Biyani House Women’s Shelter and Southern Sydney Women’s Therapy Centre to support women and children escaping domestic and family violence
- $95,000 to Canterbury Hospital to upgrade their Telopea Ward and Birthing Unit spaces to provide patients and families with a peaceful place to recover, relax, reflect, and bond
- Wangee Park School in Campsie to receive $20,000 to provide music therapy for children with disabilities to better help them express themselves
- $7,200 to Canterbury City Community Centre in Lakemba to run their Learn to Drive initiative to empower women from refugee and migrant backgrounds navigate the process of obtaining their learner permits
- $30,000 to Tresillian Belmore to support their early parenting service to new parents and families, including access to family health nurses, psychologists, paediatricians, and psychiatrists
Other organisations that received funding include Life Education NSW for their Healthy Harold program, Family of League Foundation, Melkite Foundation, Royal Life Saving NSW for their water safety project, and Koorana Child and Family Services.
