Canterbury Stands Strong in Its Commitment to the Community
This year, through the 2024 Canterbury-Bankstown City Council Local ClubGrants Committee, Canterbury League Club has pledged a remarkable $514,737 worth of funding to 36 different charitable organisations, supporting projects that enhance social welfare, health, and development in our local area.
Some notable mentions of Canterbury’s ClubGrants donations include the continued support of Canterbury Hospital through a $25,000 grant to improve their stroke rehabilitation program. The Business Concierge received $30,000 to run two projects aimed at teaching students financial literacy and other essential life skills not taught in school.
Royal Life Saving NSW also received $24,935 to run two water-safety swimming programs targeting parents and toddlers, as well as a foundation swimming and survival skills program for culturally-diverse adults.
Other organisations that received significant funding from Canterbury League Club include Maronites on a Mission, Heart of the Nation, Learning Links, Stand Tall, Horizon Theatre Company, Canterbury City Community Centre and Tresillian Family Centre to name a few.
Tresillian Director Marketing and Communications Ann Paton emphasized how they are “incredibly grateful to Canterbury League Club for the support they provide to Tresillian Canterbury.”
“Canterbury looks forward to seeing these exciting projects unfold in the coming months, and their positive impact on the lives of members of our community,” said Peter Winchester, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
