Just recently, six individuals from the Participate Australia and Canterbury League Club Cooking Club have officially graduated.
The students were mentored by Canterbury League Club’s Executive Chef Stephanie Azar and her team.
The Cooking Club spanned across 6 weeks where students learnt how to cook delicious meals that included burritos, burgers, tiramisu and chicken schnitzel.
Each week, the excited students listened attentively on how each meal would be cooked.
The students undertake the entire cooking process which includes preparing ingredients, cooking the dish, serving the dish and eating what they prepared.
On graduation night, the six chefs invited their family and carers to enjoy dinner at the Club.
The dinner was prepared by the students and included all their favorite dishes that they learned over the six-week period.
‘The graduation night was a spectacular evening that was filled with smiles and excitement. The participants were overjoyed to show their families what they had learnt. It was a special time for all those that attended,’ said George Coorey, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
‘On behalf of the Club, I would like to extend congratulations to all the graduates and wish them all the best with their future endeavors.’
Each graduate left with an award being presented to them acknowledging the completion of the cooking program.
The Club also provided the recipes to graduates so that they would be able to cook the dishes for their loved ones at home.
