Cupcakes reign supreme for RSPCA Cupcake Day

The admin staff at Canterbury showed their cupcake-love in a morning tea for the popular annual RSPCA fundraiser which raises support for animal welfare and prevention of animal cruelty.

It was a sweet tooth, sugar lover’s dream of cupcakes – staff prepared a smorgasbord of orange cupcakes, vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, ones with sprinkles and choc chip, cupcakes covered in marshmallows and M&M’s and there was even caramel mud cupcakes. There were also brownies, lamingtons, and cheese and crackers.

This is the seventh year Canterbury has taken part in Cupcake Day and it was organised by “mum” to many and long-time staff member, Barbara Moran.

“My passion for animals stems from the unconditional love they show to their owners no matter what. They never grow up and aren’t able to fend for themselves so they will always need someone who will love and look after them all their lives. But the love and devotion you receive from your pet is worth every bit,” said Barbara.

This year Canterbury raised $300 through staff donations. Thank you to all staff who participated and donated to Cupcake Day. Your kind donations go back to helping RSCPA shelters, clinics, inspectors and animals.
