Drinking coffee kind to youths

Patrons getting their daily fix of coffee at Canterbury League Club got a lot more bang for their buck on Thursday 1 Oct when they helped raised $753 for Youth Off the Streets’ Cup of Kindness Day.

A whopping 753 coffee/hot drinks were sold on the day across Canterbury, The Lakemba Club and Moxon Sports Club – and 50 cents of each cup pledged to be donated. To make the day even sweeter, Canterbury dollar-matched the final amount to show their support for a long-time community partner.

All the money raised was donated to Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off the Streets which supports disadvantaged young people as they work to turn their lives around. For more information on how they can help, click here.

“Thank you to everyone who participated and donated for Cup of Kindness Day. Activities like this show how easily we can achieve big things from small acts of kindness,” said Paul Dunn, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
