Going pink to raise awareness for breast cancer

Posted on Sunday, 18 September 2016

Canterbury will be turning PINK for the whole month of October to show support for National Breast Cancer Foundation’s (NBCF) Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

With plenty of activities on offer, let’s join together and play a massive part in raising money for this wonderful charity which researches the prevention and cure of breast cancer.

Showing Canterbury’s support, the Club’s dining outlets will be donating a portion of their sales of pink desserts to NBCF throughout the month of October. There will be pink cupcakes, pink donuts and maybe even some pink raspberry mousse on offer to tempt those with a sweet tooth so come check it out.

C-Life members can also get into the action by suiting up in their pinkest exercise gear and bringing their smiles and energy to the designated weekly PINK group exercise class; please refer to the group fitness timetable here for more information. In addition, C-Life will be holding an extra PINK express group fitness class (rotating between Spin, Circuit and Pump) every Thursday 3-3.30pm in October and this is a gold coin entry to participate. All donations will go towards NBCF.

Guess what will be lit up in pink for one month and one month only? Snap a selfie with Canterbury’s pink volcano water feature and post it on Facebook or Instagram with hashtags #canterburyturnspink #nbcfaus

“In this day and age, many lives have been affected by, not just breast cancer, but also many other types of cancer. Canterbury has been long-time supporters of NBCF and is proud to fundraise for cancer research with the hope that in the future all cancer deaths will be preventable,” said Dave Brace, CEO of Canterbury League Club.

Donation boxes will also be placed around the Club if Members would like to donate their spare change, so get up, get involved and show your support for NBCF and the great work they do!
