Healthy Biggest Morning Tea draws in the crowd

The lack of sweet cakes and biscuits didn’t deter Members, guests and staff from eating their way through Canterbury’s Biggest Morning Tea and raising $1118.55 in the process.

This year Canterbury and C-Life Health Club took a different approach to serving up a heavy sugar-laden breakfast – instead promoting the importance of good nutrition and an active lifestyle in keeping everyone healthy. The Biggest or ‘Super’ Morning Tea was themed around ‘super’ foods which showcased healthy ingredients to demonstrate that eating well can be both nutritious and delicious.

Breakfast on offer included yogurt with muesli, homemade sesame snaps, blueberry cake and granola bites, vegetable sticks with dips, toast with avocado and ricotta, and healthy almond cupcakes.

The healthy breakfast spread proved too tempting to many of the staff and C-Life members who stopped by after their workout. All fund raised go towards supporting Cancer Council’s research and prevention efforts.

Thank you to Mariana and Leedia from C-Life who organised the wonderful morning event, and thank you to everyone else who donated and supported the day!
