Help4HD fundraiser a roaring success
The recent Help for Hirschsprung Disease Ladies Luncheon at Canterbury League Club was a beaming success after the community showed their generous spirit and helped raise over $80,000 for children suffering from bowel disease.
“The luncheon was a great success and so much fun. The comedy act from Effie and having Channel 10’s Prue MacSween as our MC on the day was a huge highlight for everyone who attended – they loved her!” said Georgina Altas, Founder of Help for Hirschsprung Disease and organiser of the Ladies Luncheon.
There was fierce competition amongst the ladies to win the spa package with Married at First Sight star Jules Robinson and The Block 2018 winner Sara Vale. MAFS groom, Nic Jovanovic, was also in attendance and willingly auctioned a date with himself off to a group of eager ladies wanting to spend time with him.
“We donate Buddee Bears, toiletry kits, medical alert cards, and other essentials for families to hospitals across Australia, and funds raised on the day also go towards supporting our annual Sydney Children’s Hospital Christmas party,” said Georgina.
Canterbury was a major supporter of this event and donated $30,000 to assist Help4HD’s operations for the year.
“It was my pleasure to present Canterbury’s donation to Georgina on the day – she is truly a passionate advocate for families and children who live with bowel disease. It was a fantastic event for a great cause and Canterbury is pleased to be able to support Help4HD’s activities,” said George Coorey, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
