Join us as Canterbury fundraises for PINK week

Posted on Monday, 30 September 2019

From 21-25 October, Members will be seeing a lot more pink around the Club as staff unite to fundraise for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

During this week, the cake displays at Bakehouse Café and The Bistro will be filled with a variety of pink coloured sweets, treats and cupcakes. For every purchase of a pink dessert from either one of these two dining outlets, Canterbury will donate $1 to NBCF.

Members attending bingo sessions at Canterbury and The Lakemba Club will also have a chance to support the cause – a portion of ticket sales will also be donated to NBCF so tell all your friends to come play pink bingo.

C-Life Members can also jump on board by wearing a bit of pink and attending the dedicated pink group exercise classes. The studios will be decorated with pink and expect your favourite instructors to rock the pink as well!

The week’s activities will conclude on Friday 25 October where all staff will be invited to wear ‘A Touch of Pink’ in their uniforms, be it a pink shirt, pink tie, pink socks, pink accessories and so on, to show their support for cancer research, prevention programs and support services.

“This fundraising activity holds a special place in the hearts of staff and is dedicated to the memory of former Canterbury staff member, Rangi Troy, who lost her battle to breast cancer,” said Greg Pickering, CEO of Canterbury League Club.

“This year we will be setting the bar high and will be aiming to raise $1500 for the work that NBCF does in the field of cancer research, prevention programs and support services.”
