Letting Kids Be Kids

Canterbury Leagues Club is excited to partner with Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation by donating $10 000 to them through the ClubGrants Scheme. This grant will help fund programs and two-day camps free of charge to children living in families where a parent is affected by mental illness

Camps are held five times a year and provide these children a respite from being a primary carer at home as well as being a safe environment to meet others in similar situations. Asides from that, Kookaburra Kids also offer counselling, advice and mental health education programs in conjunction with fun-filled activities to provide a much needed break.

“We are proud to support such a commendable organisation that helps children cope with difficult family situations. This initiative will hopefully offer these kids an unforgettable and positive experience in their lives,” said Dr George Peponis OAM.
