Recently Canterbury joined forces with Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs to donate over $5,000 worth of food to The Rev Bill Crews Foundation‘s Christmas Food Appeal to help people in need and families facing hardships.

Canterbury League Club Chairman Peter Winchester and Bulldogs Chairman and Canterbury Director John Khoury joined players from Bulldogs NRL Men’s team, Bulldogs Harvey Norman Women’s team, and alumni to help unload the club van and tour the Ashfield site.

“John and I had a great time helping out yesterday and be there to see the work that Rev Bill does for the community. Christmas is traditionally a time of rest spent with family so this donation will go a long way towards ensuring all families have the opportunity to celebrate this holiday season,” said Peter Winchester.

The spirit of Christmas generosity was also strong amongst Canterbury staff members who ran a staff food drive where staff donated dried food, pasta, beans, canned tuna and fruit, cereal, rice, and packets of instant noodles. Staff donations were dropped off at the same time to Rev Bill Crews Foundation and went towards emergency-relief family Christmas hampers.
