Meet Lorriz

Meet Lorriz, one of our amazing IT guys! You might recognise him because before he internally transferred to the Club’s IT department seven months ago, he used to work at Bakehouse Cafe for 6 years.

What are some of your responsibilities as the IT Support Officer?
As an IT Support Officer, I monitor, maintain and provide technical assistance to the staff.

What led you onto this career path in IT?
I wanted to have more growth in my career and I thought to use my degree in computer engineering which I gained back in the Philippines when I was younger.

What is your favourite thing about working in Canterbury?
The company offers generous benefits to their employees!

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I love to spend time with my family especially with my 2 boys. We love going to the beach, biking and sometimes we play computer games.

Where is your next holiday destination?
My family and I want to go to America to visit relatives, go to themed park for my kids and also visit tourist destination there.

What advice can you give your younger self?
Dream big and never give up!

If you won the lotto, how would you spend it?
I will tour the world and help the less fortunate.

What’s your go-to meal in The Bistro/Bakehouse Cafe?
My go-to meal is the Miso Chicken and the Steak and Bacon Sandwich from Bakehouse Cafe.

How do you like to start your day?
I always want to start my day with a strong cup of coffee.

How do you wind down after work?
I like to play online games.

If you weren’t in this career, what could you see yourself doing?
I see myself opening a coffee shop business.

What’s your new year’s resolution for 2023?
To improve my career more and study.
