Pink week fundraiser leaves everyone tickled pink

Posted on Tuesday, 29 October 2019

For a week in October, Canterbury staff members were doing all things pink to boost breast cancer awareness and raise funds for National Breast Cancer Australia (NBCF).

By the end of the week, $1249.30 was collected thanks to the generosity of Members and staff – this fundraising figure is the highest collected from Pink Week compared to the past three years!

For every purchase of a pink dessert from Bakehouse Café and The Bistro during the week, Canterbury donated $1 to NBCF. Extra funds were raised from donation boxes around the Club, and staff fundraising activities like a lolly guessing competition and raffles.

The week’s activities finished off strong on Friday 25 October with Canterbury’s annual invitation to staff to wear ‘A Touch of Pink’ in their uniforms – be it a pink shirt, pink tie, pink socks, pink makeup and nails, or pink accessories.

A big hearty thank you to everyone who participated, donated, wore pink and ate a pink dessert in support of this event! All monies will go towards NBCF to help fund important research in cancer prevention and support programs.
