Recognising staff at 2017 Staff Awards Night

Early in September, Canterbury League Club recognised the achievements and service of 45 staff members at their annual Staff Awards Night.

In the beautifully-decorated Paragon Room, Canterbury recognised staff members who reached five-year service milestones with award recipients coming from various departments including Food and Beverage, Gaming, Marketing, Security and Surveillance, C-Life, and Reception.

Aside from honouring service milestones, Canterbury also recognised employees who had exhibited the Club’s core values of Courtesy, Attentiveness, Responsiveness and Excellence throughout the past year. The four award recipients were Paul Ware, Julie Gesovska, Bradley Mackney and George Kouroumalis.

Canterbury’s Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Alison Daniell for her commitment to helping in the community – in addition to the award, she also got to nominate a charity that the Club will donate to on her behalf. This year Alison chose The Heart Foundation, leaders in heart disease prevention and research, because she has had close family members pass away from heart conditions.

“This club wouldn’t exist without the amazing dedication and loyalty of our staff members who consistently uphold the values which make Canterbury an iconic destination. Congratulations to everyone who received awards on the night – I look forward to giving more out in the years to come,” said Dave Brace, CEO of Canterbury.
