State of Origin Lunch Raises Funds for New Parents
An impressive $30,000 was raised at a recent State of Origin Lunch charity fundraiser, held in Canterbury’s new Showroom, to continue the important work of Tresillian Family Care Centre, Belmore.
As Australia’s largest early parenting support not-for-profit organisation, Tresillian provides early childhood advice and infant education for families with a baby, toddler or pre-schooler through a range of in-patient and day programs.
The event was a tremendous success, seating approximately 170 engaged diners and featuring a stellar guest speaker lineup made up of sporting legends including Phil Gould, Darryl Brohman and David Gillespie, and emcee duties by popular Channel Nine sports presenter, James Bracey.
Tresillian Director of Marketing and Communications, Ann Paton, explained how “all funds go towards improving facilities at Tresillian residential in-patient and day services, for parents and babies.”
Canterbury supported this event by providing a $10,000 grant to offset some of the costs.
“The event was a great success and enjoyed by everyone involved. We are thrilled to have been able to help Tresillian to keep doing such important work for our community,” said Canterbury League Club CEO Greg Pickering.
Previous support by Canterbury League Club has enabled Tresillian to upgrade facilities as well as purchasing new equipment to help improve further their overall level of service.
