Supporting St Basil’s

Canterbury has been proudly supporting St Basil’s Homes to improve the lives of their elderly residents through the ClubGrants scheme. This month Canterbury has pledged $50,000 to fund two worthy projects. This financial support will fund the St Basil’s Men’s Shed & Nursing Home Lifestyle project.  The funds will allow St Basil’s to support the appointment of a Part Time Coordinator to oversee the running of the Men’s Shed, as well as the ongoing program costs. It will also aim to improve the quality of life of residents focussing on the development of programs and improvement of premises both indoor and out.

In 2012, Canterbury donated $50,000 which contributed towards the purchase of a bus with wheelchair lifter to enable residents in wheelchairs to go on outings and the establishment of the Men’s Shed. “Canterbury are pleased to be able to support St Basil’s through our ClubGrants Scheme and to help make a difference to the lives of the residents living in the home” said Dr. George Peponis OAM.
