UNDERGROUND CAR PARK NEARING COMPLETION

Posted on Tuesday, 13 June 2017

If you were to peer into the hole at the front of the Club, you’ll be surprised to see how close to the top construction has progressed to complete the multi storey underground car park.

Parkview are currently working on forming the two new areas of basement level 1 – one side is the car park, the other side is the Club’s new loading dock. The new loading dock will have enough room to receive four trucks at any one time and will have ample space for the vehicles to reverse in so that they can load and unload stock efficiently. From that point, stock can be quickly dispersed to different sections of the Club through a series of underground tunnels that link one end of Canterbury to the other.

The entire space and the surrounding areas that used to be Galaxy Play Area have also been demolished as part of the planned new bistro al fresco extension. The next step is to join the Club’s existing foundation slab to the new West wing build.

A new back-of-house kitchen and other members’ amenities, including a cashier and Supervisor’s room, on the first floor of the West wing are nearing completion. Also tucked away in that section in
the nearby plant rooms are seven new industrial air conditioning units installed at a cost of nearly $1 million; all working together to keep that wing of the Club comfortable even during the hottest months. Joining them in the plant room are three new industrial heaters, and three large exhaust fans which pull air from the kitchens at Banyan Brasserie and Dynasty.
