Canterbury showing support for Vinnies donation drive

Vinnies (St Vincent de Paul Society) has kicked off their latest clothing drive at Canterbury League Club and are calling out for pre-loved, quality donations.
Several Vinnies clothing bins are located at the back entrance of Canterbury, as patrons enter from the ground-level blue carpark behind the club.
“Clothing donated will go to Vinnies Bankstown shop, and items will be sold to raise revenue for the services and initiatives that Vinnies provide,” said Michael Patulny, Area Manager, St Vincent de Paul’s.
Vinnies provide services to people experiencing disadvantage and hardship include resources like food and vouchers, financial assistance to help with bills and other expenses, school items for children, and access to vital referral services.
The donation drive is open to all Canterbury Members and guests for the whole month of May. Coming into the colder winter months, Vinnies are calling out for donations of clean, undamaged, good quality or lightly worn:
- Jackets
- Jumpers
- Coats
- Scarves
- Beanies
- Gloves
- Men’s & women’s clothing and accessories
- Men’s and women’s shoes
“Canterbury is happy to assist and we call on our Members to support this great cause and get donating! If you have any lightly-worn clothing and shoes that you no longer wear, this is a great reason to make some space in your wardrobe,” said Peter Winchester, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
