Members Raise $8,529 for Vinnies Winter Clothing Drive

Last month, Members showed their community spirit in full force and helped raised $8,529 for Vinnies (St Vincent de Paul Society) through their recent ‘Bring Your Best’ winter clothing drive .

Throughout the month, donation bins at the Club’s back entrance filled up with jackets, jumpers, coats, and other winter essentials, all destined for the Vinnies Bankstown shop. From there, every sale helps fund services like food and grocery vouchers, financial assistance with bills, school essentials for kids, and referrals to other vital support.

Vinnies has confirmed the final numbers from this year’s drive:

• $8,529 raised to support Vinnies programs and services
• 820 kg of clothing collected, keeping it out of landfill
• Over 65% of donations were good quality and reusable
• 35% was sent to recycling partners

“It’s a fantastic result, and one that reflects the generosity Canterbury Members bring to the local community time and again,” said Peter Winchester, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
