WORK TO COMMENCE ON A BRAND NEW RESTAURANT – THE BISTRO
Banyan Brasserie is currently closed to make way for a brand new restaurant called The Bistro.
The Bistro will offer approximately 700 seats in a combination of internal and al fresco seating, about double the 390 seating capacity of the existing Banyan Brasserie. The Bistro will offer an exciting full cook-to-order menu featuring everything from classic club favourites to the latest on-trend dishes from across the globe. It will also have a new modern and contemporary fitout and a children’s play area.
The Bistro will be delivered in two stages, with the first stage being the new kitchen and internal area, to be followed by the large al fresco section. At the same time, builders will also be demolishing and refurbishing the bathrooms near the former Galaxy Play area as well as updating the back-of-house kitchen.
Underneath the West wing of the Club, the space that was previously excavated a while ago to form the new underground loading dock, storage and cool rooms will now be joined by another basement commercial production kitchen. The new kitchen will be utilised during peak periods to serve The Bistro as well as to prep for events and functions at the Club.
While the new restaurant is under construction, Banyan Lite will appear as a pop-up on Friday nights through to Sunday serving a limited menu of club favourites including Chicken Schnitzel, Fish & Chips, and Roast of the Day to name a few.
“We are very excited to introduce our latest offering to our Members and guests after the successful launch of the Bakehouse Café last year. The Bistro is our brand new family-friendly dining option with an amazing new menu so keep a look out for its opening date in the upcoming months,” said Dave Brace, CEO of Canterbury League Club.
