Yum cha at The Dynasty No.1 in Sydney

Posted on Monday, 3 February 2014

The Dynasty at Canterbury League Club was recently nominated by TimeOut Sydney as the best place in 2014 to have yum cha in Sydney.

Beating out other yum cha crowd favourites like Marigold (Chinatown), The Eight (Chinatown) and Fisherman’s Wharf (Pyrmont), The Dynasty came out on top with consistent high marks for food, presentation, décor and experience.

Popular dishes with restaurant-goers are the 12-fold steamed prawn dumplings (har gao), glossy steamed BBQ pork buns, delicately folded steamed vegetable dumplings and a plethora of sugary dessert goodness like egg tarts, sesame balls, soft tofu with sugar syrup (tau foo fa), mango jelly and pancakes.

Diners who come for yum cha on weekdays have the convenience of ordering their dishes off their yum cha menu to ensure freshness and speediness. For those that enjoy the yum cha trolley and cart experience, weekends are best to see trolley ladies pushing around their steaming tasty wares.

The Dynasty also has a sister restaurant, Imperial Noodles & Dumplings Bar, that recently opened at The Lakemba Club. Run by the same successful team, this new restaurant is offering a limited menu of the more popular yum cha dishes that made The Dynasty great in the first place.
